Three essences, three different needs, in one format you can try without committing to full size straight away. That is exactly why mixsoon created the Essence Layering Set No. 1: to help you work out what your skin is really asking for, day by day, instead of guessing.
The brand's philosophy is the same as ever: short formulas and ingredients you can actually feel. Here, though, the point is layering: you can use them one at a time or layer them, starting with the lightest and pausing for a few seconds between steps.
What's in the set
- Soondy Centella Asiatica Essence. The most calming of the three. Centella works on redness and that tight feeling, so this is the one to keep within reach after sun exposure, after an exfoliant or on days when your face reacts to everything. Also great as a first layer when skin is irritable.
- Galactomyces Ferment Essence. The ferment that takes care of radiance and skin texture. It helps make the complexion more even and the surface smoother, with an effect that shows most on dull areas or areas marked by old redness. Use it in the morning, before your serum, when you want make-up to sit better.
- Bifida Ferment Essence. The most repairing one. Bifida ferment supports the skin barrier and the skin's ability to recover, which is why it is at its best in the evening, when regeneration does its own work. Perfect during times of stress, little sleep or seasonal change.
How to use them
On freshly cleansed, still slightly damp skin, pour a few drops into your palms and pat over the face. If you want to layer, work from the most fluid texture to the richest and wait for each layer to absorb. Then follow with serum and moisturiser.
One practical tip: try each essence on its own for a few days before combining them. It is the most honest way to find out which of the three deserves a permanent place on your shelf.
